Scaffold Education Canada (SEC) is a leading organization dedicated to providing high-quality scaffold training and safety education across Canada. SEC has been established to set a new benchmark in scaffold training, replacing traditional systems and ensuring that training is fully aligned with Canadian standards and industry needs. Our training programs are based on the CSA Z797-23 standards, along with Provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations, Federal OH&S requirements, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices.

Scaffold training is a specialized occupational health and safety program that teaches scaffold professional’s how to safely erect, use,modify,inspect, and dismantle scaffolding. It is essential for preventing accidents, mitigating fall risks, and ensuring sites meet strict regulatory and liability standards.

In Canada, training must align with provincial occupational, health and safety regulations Canadian Standards Association (CSA Z-797). Jurisdictions require workers to complete specialized, practical, and written assessment to be deemed a competent person.

Scaffold training is divided by role. Scaffold erectors need hands-on, practical building experience, theoretical training, while scaffold users and supervisors may only need hazard awareness training to understand safe work practices. Anybody who works with around or on scaffold requires training.

Upon successful completion of any SEC training program a certification will be issued. A student data based is maintained in Canada. Every student will receive a student number and a certification number.
